About the Campaign
Empowerment is more than access to resources — it is the ability to make choices, take control, and shape one’s own future. Across India, women and youth often face systemic barriers that prevent them from accessing education, training, and sustainable employment. Poverty, social norms, and lack of vocational opportunities frequently limit their potential, leaving many underprivileged individuals struggling to earn a livelihood and live with dignity.
Manav Charities recognizes that real change begins when women and youth are empowered with skills, knowledge, and confidence to break free from cycles of poverty and dependence. The Women & Youth Empowerment program is a holistic initiative designed to equip participants with practical skills, vocational training, entrepreneurial knowledge, and community support.
Through this program, we aim to transform lives by creating pathways to employment, financial independence, and self-reliance, while fostering inclusion for differently-abled individuals and encouraging entrepreneurship.

Our Vision
A society where every woman and young person has the skills, confidence, and opportunities to contribute meaningfully to their community and lead a life of dignity, independence, and empowerment.
Our Mission
- To equip women and youth with employable skills that match industry needs.
- To foster entrepreneurship and self-help initiatives for sustainable livelihoods.
- To provide inclusive opportunities for differently-abled individuals.
- To build confidence, leadership, and social awareness among participants.
- To create supportive communities that value and encourage the potential of women and youth.
Program Overview
Skill Training for Employment in Apparel Manufacturing
SEAM focuses on training women and youth in the apparel industry, a sector that offers substantial employment opportunities across India. Participants are equipped with:
- Garment stitching and tailoring techniques
- Quality control and finishing skills
- Understanding workplace safety and professional behaviour
Through SEAM, trainees gain hands-on experience, industry knowledge, and employable skills, enabling them to secure sustainable jobs in apparel manufacturing units. The program not only generates income but also builds self-confidence and independence, empowering participants to transform their own lives and support their families.
Self-Help Group (SHG) Formation
Financial independence begins with collective action and community support. Manav encourages the formation of Self-Help Groups (SHGs) among women, fostering peer learning, savings, and mutual empowerment.
SHGs provide:
- A platform for women to pool resources and savings
- Opportunities for micro-credit and financial assistance
- Training in entrepreneurship, leadership, and management
These groups strengthen community bonds, encourage collaborative growth, and help women take charge of their economic and social wellbeing.
Vocational Training Programs
Our vocational training initiative equips participants with practical skills for employment or self-employment in multiple trades, including:
- Candle Making – teaching creativity, precision, and production techniques.
- Motor Driving – providing essential skills for transportation-based jobs.
- Hotel Management & Cooking – training for careers in the hospitality sector.
- Tailoring – enhancing sewing, stitching, and garment-making skills.
- Paper Bag Manufacturing – promoting eco-friendly entrepreneurship.
- Eatables & Spice Production – enabling food-based micro-enterprises.
- Computer Education – ensuring digital literacy and access to modern job markets.
Vocational Training & Job-Oriented Courses (JOC) for Differently-Abled Individuals
Inclusivity is at the heart of Manav’s empowerment initiatives. The program extends tailored vocational training to differently-abled individuals, enabling them to compete in the workforce and pursue meaningful careers.
Training modules are adapted to individual abilities, ensuring:
- Functional independence
- Industry-relevant skills
- Confidence building and social inclusion
