Manav Home for Children CCI (Child Care Institute):

Caring and Protecting Vulnerable Children.

Manav Home for Children is registered under provisions of sections (41)1 of the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 as Child Care Institution. We Provide Free Education, Shelter and Clothing for the Children.

According to the UNCRC a child means every human being below the age of eighteen years unless, under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier. In India various laws related to children define children in different age limits. According to Article 21(a) of the Indian Constitution all children between the ages of six to fourteen should be provided with free and compulsory education. The child labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986 defines a child as a person who has not completed fourteen years of age.

Most of the cases were admitted to the institution by their own mothers owing to poverty, unrestrained habits of the father and strained relationship of the child with step parents. Most children were found to be less intelligent, possessed a doubting nature, but at the same time showed tough minded, self-sufficient and controlled behaviour. Rehabilitation services were provided in terms of free education facilities, Shelter and clothing.

RCC (Remedial and Counseling Centre):

Enriching Intelligent and Emotional Quotient.

We Provide scientifically designed remedial intervention that has scholastic issues, Career Guidance, Career Counseling, Adolescent and Family Counseling.

Assessment, Counseling and Remedial centre has the most precise and scientific collections of standardized psychological and psycho- educational assessments. We have test kits suitable to children, adolescents and a few for adults. We have expert professionals, trained psychologists, counselors and remedial tutors to administer and interpret the various tests and provide detailed reports with required interventions to the clients.

We administer these tests primarily on children who have shown some kind of lacuna in certain academic areas. We offer our expertise in the field of SLD ( Specific Learning Disabilities)

We empathize with those newly diagnosed families who are finding their way through the sometimes confusing process of securing treatment and funding while simultaneously coping with the diagnosis of their child.

Manav Special School :

Enhancing the Functional Abilities of the Special Needs.

This is an integrated approach to provide basic services to the children with special needs in the age group of 5- 18 + years and improve function in all areas of child development. And also promote the acceptance of child’s disability by the family and society.

We practice of educating students in a way that addresses their individual differences and needs. Ideally, this process involves the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, and accessible settings. These interventions are designed to help individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in their community which may not be available if the student were only given access to a typical classroom education.

Identifying students or learners with special needs.

Some children are easily identified as candidates for special needs due to their medical history. They may have been diagnosed with a genetic condition that is associated with intellectual disability.

For students with less obvious disabilities, such as those who have learning difficulties, two primary methods have been used for identifying them: the discrepancy model and the response to intervention model. The discrepancy model depends on the teacher noticing that the students’ achievements are noticeably below what is expected. The response to intervention model advocates earlier intervention.

Skill Training :

Enabling the Children in need to Compete more efficiently.

Manav Charities in Collaboration with Federal Mogul and Dept. of Women and child, GOK is conducting Skill Training in the trade of Tailoring and 2 wheeler Mechanic for Boys and Girls below 18 years at Government home for children.

For many underprivileged children in India education is a luxury that they cannot afford. Poverty plays a key role in taking away this opportunity from them and many a times their location and lack of transport facilities also plays spoiler. Or, most of the times they drop out of schools and take up odd jobs as child laborers to support their family financially.

Though there are human resources available in plenty, not everyone possess trained skills that can be useful. Providing vocational training will bridge the gap between skilled and unskilled labor and will help people with better employment opportunities. According to the study of a research group, by 2020, India will have a surplus of 56 million working people while the global shortage of skilled working people will be 47 million. A considerable amount of population is the underprivileged ones who can contribute heavily towards this cause.

Manav Vidya Kendra :

Education For All.

Its an informal school where we prepare children to attend formal schools run by Govt. of Karnataka.

Our education system mostly focuses on academic and rote learning. Students have little access to education that will them grow as individuals and work on their interpersonal skills.

Informal Education is a general term for education that can occur outside of a structured curriculum. Informal Education encompasses student interests within a curriculum in a regular classroom, but is not limited to that setting. It works through conversation, and the exploration and enlargement of experience. Sometimes there is a clear objective link to some broader plan, but not always. The goal is to provide learners with the tools he or she needs to eventually reach more complex material and main stream them.
